In the sweltering heat of the Malaysian Grand Prix, Jolyon Palmer finished in 15th place, heading Nico Hulkenberg home after a tough race on the Sepang circuit. After losing places at the start, Jolyon had recovered well and was chasing his team-mate down for 11th position when he suddenly lost aero and spun, dropping him down the order. Hulkenberg's second pit stop late in the race promoted Jolyon to 15th at the flag.

Jolyon Palmer, #30, R.S.17-03: Started P12, finished P15.

“The start of the race wasn’t great I was then following Nico for a good part and there were a few good overtakes. After that I lost the car and I don’t really know why, it came as a surprise and we pretty much lost the race from there. We move on and look ahead to next week.”
